Francisca Garza "Panchita" Rendon, 93, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2026 . Panchita was born to Eusebio and Dolores Garza of Cotulla, Texas on October 6, 1932 who preceded her in death and is also preceded in death by her siblings, Ernest Garza, Eusebio "Chevo" Garza, Alicia Garza Harris, Dolores Garza Garcia, Amada Garza Nieto and Anne Garza Gomez. She is also survived by her siblings, Abel Garza and Mary Garza Muriel.
Francisca spent the early years of her life playing drums in the Cotulla High School marching band, working at the local Dairy Queen and perfecting her craft of sewing and embroidery. She met her husband Trinidad F. Rendon, USAF retired (deceased) at a local dancehall between the small towns of Dilley and Cotulla, Texas, where their love began and blossomed into a beautiful 70 years of marriage.
She is survived by her three sons, Air Force retirees: Trinidad F. Rendon II (Teresa), Roland G. Rendon (Hortencia) and Rene G. Rendon (Juanita). She is also survived by three granddaughters, Frances Rendon Henderson, Felicia A. Rendon and Jessica A. Casanova (Justin), and three great grandchildren, Marie E. Henderson, Isaac A. Casanova and Olivia F. Casanova and numerous nieces and nephews.
As a military wife, she carried each transition, each deployment, and each sacrifice with dignity--always supporting and building a warm, stable home for her family. Her strength was the foundation that allowed her family to thrive amid the challenges of military life. During the family's time in Panama Canal Zone, she embraced her role as a Cub Scout den mother, guiding young boys with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm. She poured her heart into every meeting, every activity, and every lesson, shaping countless childhoods with her kindness and steady leadership.
Francisca devoted her life to her catholic faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church for over 50 years where she volunteered her time as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD and Catechism teacher. She spent many years helping fundraise church festivals, donating to rummage sales, raffles, plates sales and bingo nights. For several years, Francisca was also a dedicated sales clerk at the iconic and historical, Joskes Las Palmas where she was able to help many customers with their decisions and purchases in the shoe department for memorable occasions.
One of Panchita's greatest gifts was the way she welcomed people into her home. She hosted family and friends with an effortless elegance, turning every gathering---large or small--into a moment of warmth and connection. Under her care, no mouth ever went unfed and no cup ever went dry. She had a way of making everyone feel taken care of, creating spaces filled with good food, full hearts, and the kind of comfort only she could provide. And lastly, Panchita had a green thumb. She loved working in her garden from planting fruit trees, lovely flower gardens and special shrubbery.
The Rendon Family would like to thank Embrace Hospice; New Haven Assisted Living, Memory Care and Debbie's Caring Hands Personal Care Home for the outstanding loving care and assistance for our mother.
