Holzmann and Erna Raba and was the youngest of six siblings (Herbert, Connie, Marjorie, Betty, and Erna).

From there he went on to serve in the Army for 4 years. He married his wife Cathy on May 14, 1960 and enjoyed a beautiful marriage filled with love, laughter and faith. He was a devoted father of a special needs daughter Joan, who was his constant companion for 63 years, as well as a daughter Karen and son Frank. St. Mark’s Catholic Church and its community were an integral part of his life. As a founding member of the Church, he served on the parish council, old and new church building committees as well as a eucharistic minister and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Over the last 10 years he has been a part of St. Mark’s ROMEOs (retired old men eating out) and has thoroughly enjoyed the stories, laughter, and brotherhood that this group has shared.
Frank had an illustrious 36 year career with TxDOT, working at the residency and district levels, then as chief engineer of Highway Design in Texas beginning in1984, and Deputy director of TxDOT in 1990. He received the 1982 Gibb Gilchrist Award for successfully directing one of the largest construction projects in the state. He was recognized by Engineering News-Record magazine in 1984 as one of the nation’s outstanding achievers in the field of construction. After retiring he taught classes statewide for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service for TxDOT. Spending time with his grandkids was the activity that brought him the most joy as well as traveling with his wife Cathy and socializing with his many friends.
