

Frank Obra Thierry was called to eternal rest at the age of 79 on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 6:47 a.m. He was born on September 25, 1925 in Opelousas Plaisance, Louisiana to the late Clarence Thierry Sr. and Mattie Pitre Thierry.
He was the oldest of ten children and attended Plaisance High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mohorn Baptist Church in Plaisance, Louisiana under the leadership of the late Rev. S.A. Crowder.
He was an active member of Greater Corinth Baptist Church for many years serving as trustee, deacon, teacher, and on various other ministries.
He was united in holy matrimony to the late Bertha Stephens Thierry of Grand Prairie, Louisiana on June 17, 1950. Two daughters, Janet and Debra and two sons, Marcus and Michael were born to this union.
He later married Sheila McAllister Thierry but this union was dissolved. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and served for twenty-three plus years before he retired.
Preceding him in death was: his wife, Bertha Stephens Thierry, his parents, two brothers, Clenny Thierry and Overton Thierry, and one sister, Elmenia Thierry. Left to celebrate his life, mourn his passing, and cherish his memory are: two loving daughters, Janet Thierry Robinson of San Antonio, Texas and Debra Thierry Shavers of Carrollton, Texas; three dedicated sons, Robert Charles Pitre of New Orleans, Louisiana, Marcus Thierry of San Antonio, Texas and Michael Wayne Thierry of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers; four sisters; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and close friends.
Mr. Thierry will lie in state at 12:00 noon on Thursday.
