

Frank Neil Thompson was born on August 3, 1938 in Poteet, Texas to parents, Jewel Stacy and Ruby Bell (Pitts) Thompson. He passed away in his home on Monday, April 4, 2022, in Helotes, at the age of 83.
Frank joined the US Coast Guard in 1956 and stayed in for four years. Frank then decided he wanted a career in the construction business. He worked in construction for over 55 years and even owned his own construction business for 25 of those years. Frank also became mayor of Helotes, Texas in 1983 and was mayor for two years. He was also a Master Mason in the Helotes Lodge. He and his wife also owned a restaurant in downtown Helotes in the 1980s. Frank was a member of the Church of Christ.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Freda Thompson, his parents, his brothers J.B Thompson, Ray Thompson, Roland Thompson, Bill Thompson, and Paul Thompson, his sons, Stacy Thompson, Michael Walpole, Mark Walpole & wife Sandi Walpole, and Gary Morris, granddaughters Michelle Walpole and Kandace Morris. He is survived by his daughters Renea Vannett, Lee Ann Franken, and Carol Brietzke & husband Roy, daughter-in- law, Krisee Lawler, brother Tommy Thompson & wife Lydia, sister-in-laws, Loretta Thompson and Myrtle Thompson, his aunt Francis Davis, his grandchildren Frank, Kyle, Julie, Josh, Amber, Samantha, Justin, Aaron, Nicholas, and Marcus, and many greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephew, and cousins.
A memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3pm at Porter Loring North. 2102 N. Loop 1604 E San Antonio, Texas 78232. There will be no visitation.
