He was born on October 9, 1953, in Batesville, Texas, to Lucile Cram and Henry Jay Whitecotton, Jr., who met during World War II at Norton Air Force Base in California.
After the war, they returned to Texas to live on the family cattle ranch until tragically, Jay was killed in an airplane crash.
In 1956, Lucile married Dorwin W. Suttle, and the family followed his judicial career across the state, eventually settling in San Antonio—where Frank would make his lifelong home.
Frank had many passions: science fiction, ranching, fine art—but he was most at home behind a piano or a campfire skillet. His creativity and curiosity for all things nature were boundless.
He is survived by his sons, Travis and Jay; stepdaughters, Victoria and Alexandria; and his beloved wife, Karen Jane Whitecotton, whose 28 years of companionship brought out the best in Frank.
A character in every sense of the word, Franklin spent his final years giving generously to those in need and sharing his “vast warehouse of useless knowledge” with everyone he met.
Frank’s heart was filled with music and prayer, and he will be dearly missed by all.
It should’ve been LaFarr.
