Fred J. Quarles, age 84, of San Antonio, died Sunday, June 14, 2009. He was a longtime member of the San Antonio Diaconate and lifelong member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Fred was a hardworking successful entrepreneur. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an aviator.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick W. and Helen Quarles; and wife, Geri Quarles. He is survived by his daughter, Frances "Penny" A. Gamble and husband, Richard; son, Norbert A. Quarles and wife, Sigrid; son, Paul D. Quarles and wife, Shirley; son, Stephen Quarles; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Quarles; and sister, Joan Lee-Andel.
