Frederick Wallace Travis

Frederick W. Travis Sr. joined our heavenly father on January 6, 2014 at the age of 82 with his wife of 63 years Florence, by his side. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. He was born on July 15, 1931 in Starkey, New York. He served in the army from July 7, 1949 to Dec 10, 1952. He met Florence Irene Stapera and they were married on January 2, 1951. Fred worked as a barber for 42 years until he retired in 1999.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Edna Travis, his sister Ana Jean Forman, brothers Arnold and Frances Empson. He is survived by his ten children, Fred W. Travis Jr and his wife Christine, Catherine Ennis, Linda Shrum and husband Denny, Carol Bertrand, Nancy Mizera and husband Don, Bruce Travis, Ellen Bueche and husband Ron, Tracy Travis, Amy James and husband Mike, Kevin Travis, 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Home Friday January 10 2014 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will take place at John Calvin Presbyterian Church 8102 Midcrown San Antonio, Texas at 10 am with interment to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels, Texas.
