He was a retired Lieutenant, serving with the Castle Hills Police Department for 29 years.
Gabriel enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Vasquez Morales and brother, John Castanelli.
Gabriel is survived by his loving companion of 21 years, Clare Lessard; sisters, Silvia Elizondo and husband, Raymond and Rosemary Frausto and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.
