Gayle R. Miller-Suarez, age 45, tragically passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas after losing her battle with mental illness. She was born on April 10, 1978, in Brooklyn, New York, to Gladys Rosenberg and Jerry Miller.
Gayle graduated from Stony Brook University and had a few careers in New York City before pursuing a degree at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. After graduating from Pharmacy school Gayle and Tania relocated to San Antonio and started their family, adopting their two smart, amazing, compassionate boys, Hudson and Grayson.
Gayle and Tania first met in 2004 at a diner in Brooklyn, NY and were almost inseparable after their first date. It felt like they had been living in parallel worlds until that day. Tania had never met anyone who had the same values, believed in, and stood up for the same things. They had so many similarities, and learned their fathers were both pharmacists, both owned their own pharmacies, and even had the same first name. They also both worked behind their father’s pharmacy counters growing up. Later in life those similarities continued when Gayle became a pharmacist and Tania was managing the front end of CVS. Although they had different personalities and many differences, they completed each other, they made a great team.
Gayle loved travel, the beach, musicals, concerts and watching movies as a family on the weekends. She loved cats, Italian food, going out to breakfast, and buying an excessive amount of Christmas gifts for her boys, niece, and nephews. Gayle’s favorite days always included participating, contributing, and being involved with her sons’ activities at school and cub scouts. Whatever they wanted, their mommy was always there for them. She was an extremely generous person with a huge heart.
A treasured wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, and friend, Gayle will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by, father, Jerry Miller and brother-in-law Norman Bujanos. Gayle is survived by wife, Tania Suarez; sons, Hudson Miller-Suarez and Grayson Miller-Suarez; mother, Gladys Miller; sisters, Amy Bujanos and Erin (Dan) Duffy; brother, Larry (Andrea) Miller; niece, Jordyn Bujanos; nephews, Julian Duffy, and Kevin Duffy; mother-in-law, Maria C. Fernandez; sisters-in-law, Yenny Rojas, Ive Perez, Gisselle Mejia, and Priscilla Mejia; brothers-in-law, Daniel Rojas, and Wellington Perez.
The family will be holding a small private memorial service in her honor. As is traditional in the Jewish faith, the family will be sitting shiva beginning 4pm Sunday 10/1 and Monday 10/2 at the Miller-Suarez residence in San Antonio, and on Tuesday 10/3 and Wednesday 10/4 at the Bujanos residence in Austin. A larger celebration of life will be planned in the New York area at a later date.
