George Edward Dubensky, age 78, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. George was born on February 20, 1947, in Sewickley, PA, to Johanna Wolfe and George E. Dubensky, Sr.
George and his brother, Jim, grew up in San Antonio, Texas. He attended St. Margaret Mary's Catholic School through 8th grade. He graduated from Highlands High School.
Following his graduation, George served in the United States Army and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. In 1971 he married Dorothy Ann Brysch. That marriage resulted in 2 children: Michael in 1976 and Shelley in 1979. Throughout this time, George had a long and successful career in the retail grocery business, to include working for Ralston Purina and Nestle, where he made many life-long friendships.
George is survived by his wife of 18 years Terry Dubensky, his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kristie Dubensky; daughter, Shelley Mund; grandchildren, Ashton Mund, Mason Dubensky, Kameron Dubensky, and Brooklyn Mund; stepsons, William Stewart and his wife, Oksana, Clayton Stewart and his wife, Carla, and Mark McDavitt; and step grandson, Ayden Stewart.
George greatly enjoyed spending time with Terry traveling, antiquing, and were long-time supporters of both the San Antonio Spurs and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
George will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring North Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX. On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, a service will be held at Porter Loring North at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment with military honors in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m.
