George Napoleon Patiño born February 15, 1948 passed away in his sleep at home and left this world to join his family in heaven on August 14, 2010. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Napoleon and Esperanza Patiño, brother, Richard Patiño, nephew Stephen Patiño. He is survived by his wife Carol; her sisters Joan Fay and Joyce Gillio; brothers Eddie Patiño and wife Ann; Charles Patiño and wife Kathryn; sisters Margie and husband Gilbert Flores; Joyce and husband Jack Ridenour; Nancy and husband Rudy Rodriquez and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and friends. George was an architect at heart at an early age; he realized the importance of saving historic buildings as a reminder to future generations of the history of his beloved state and city. Of particular note, George led the effort to have River Walk designer Robert Hugman recognized with a plaque installed at river level. Other notable projects include renovation of the Majestic and Empire Theater, Bexar County Courthouse, Buck Horn Hall of Horns and many schools and hospitals while employed at Marmon & Mok, Ford Powell & Carson, 3DI and Alamo Architects. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 pm on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
