

George Washington Saxton, Jr., MSgt. USAF Ret., age 95, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in San Antonio. George was born on September 24, 1915 in Norfolk, Virginia to George W. Saxton, Sr. and Lessie White.
George worked at the Naval Base in Virginia before joining the Air Corps which then divided into the Air Force. Throughout his 25 years of dedicated service he and his family traveled the world. After his retirement, George took his family on a road trip that lasted several months but ended in San Antonio. George worked in several careers here, retiring for the final time from Fairchild Aviation.
Having never met a stranger, George always kept busy with various projects and a meticulously kept yard. He was a founding member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church and founding member of the Knights of Columbus where he reached a 4th degree.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Begonia L. Saxton and son-in-law, Ernest W. Cole. He is survived by his daughter, Begonia S. Cole; granddaughter, Rosylyn Cole Perez and husband Donald; grandson Ernest W. Cole, II and wife Gina I. Cole; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and thousands of friends.
