

George Franklin Skinner, age 89, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
George was born in Scott County, Kentucky, on July 6, 1936, to Frank and Lillie Mae Skinner (nee Wright).
George met the love of his life, Judy Fales, in 1955 in Coldwater, Michigan. They were married on September 23, 1956, in Coldwater. They welcomed four children, Michelle, Teresa, Chip, and Thomas.
George was a Korean War veteran and honorably served his country in the US Marines from 1953-1962. Upon leaving the Marines, George worked for the Davis Company while continuing his education in the heating and air conditioning trade. In 1972, he established Skinner Heating, Air Conditioning and Electric. George and Judy moved to San Antonio, Texas, in 1977, where he continued his work in the heating and air conditioning industry, and in 1991 founded Skinner Air Conditioning, Heating & Commercial Refrigeration. George retired in 2005.
Everyone who knew George knew how much he loved to bowl. Among his many achievements are a state championship, numerous individual honors and, at the age of 77, every bowler's ultimate goal - a perfect game of 300. It was an activity he continued to enjoy every week until October 2025.
George relished his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his wife, his love for his family, his strong moral character, and his ability to fix anything and everything. He was respected by everyone who knew him.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Frank, brothers Carl and Charlie, and his sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife Judy, children Michelle Johnson (Kurt), Teresa Brown (Mark), Chip Skinner (Susan), and Thomas Skinner (Linda), grandchildren, Sarah (Sean), Kristen (Gabriel), Devan (Juan), Kyle (Deborah), Corey, Lilly, and Katie (Stephen) and great-grandchildren Mikylie, Kayleigh, Riley, Pixie, Jett, Taylor, Hayleigh and Brandon, and looked forward to the arrival of Cameron, due in December.
A Visitation for George will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will occur Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Archdiocese of San Antonio - Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, Texas 78266.
A Reception will occur Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, San Antonio, Texas 78148.
