He was born April 24, 1949, in Mexia, Texas to George Conwell Smith, Jr. and Frances Grisham Smith. George was employed by the Texas Biomedical Research Institute for the past 38 years. He was also a Certified Public Accountant.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
George is survived by his wife, Robbie Smith; daughter, Sarah Roberts; son, Robert Jennings Smith and wife Julie; daughter, Katie Roach and husband Chris. Also survived by four grandchildren; Caden, Anna Kate, Madelyn and Cal; sisters; Robin Ellison and husband Jeff, Karen Forey and husband Ron.
