Gerald Stowers Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 28, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 83. Born on April 17, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Herbert Stowers and Ruby Stevens, Gerald lived a life marked by hard work, creativity, and deep devotion to his family and passions.
A proud graduate with two bachelor’s degrees, Gerald forged a remarkable career as an entrepreneur in the payroll and software industry. With a keen mind for business and a reputation for integrity and innovation, he built a legacy that extended beyond success—it left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
Gerald shared a long and loving marriage with his late wife, Delia “Dee” Stowers. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, shared adventures, and unwavering support for each other. Their love story continues through their son, Gerald Stowers Jr., and daughter-in-law Nicole, who carry forward the values Gerald held dear. He was a devoted and proud grandfather to Landon and Tristan Stowers, whose lives he enriched with wisdom, humor, and unconditional love.
Gerald is also survived by his sister, Deana Hoffman, and her husband Carl, as well as his brother, Johnny Stowers. Family was the cornerstone of Gerald’s life, and he treasured every moment spent with those he held close.
Outside of his professional life, Gerald embraced his passions with equal dedication. A talented woodworker, he found joy and peace in crafting intricate wooden bowls—each one a reflection of his patience and artistry. His adventurous spirit led him across the country on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, where the open road brought him freedom and joy. A regular at the pool table, Gerald rarely missed a day of play, enjoying the camaraderie and competition it brought. He had a soft spot for his grand dogs and loved spending time with his family and friends, whether it was a backyard gathering, a road trip, or a simple, meaningful conversation.
Gerald Stowers Sr. will be remembered for his steady presence, generous heart, and a life well-lived. His legacy of love, resilience, and creativity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
