Gladys Maria Marshall, born on September 15, 1929 in Santiago de Cuba, passed away on August 22, 2009 from Alzheimer's. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Carmen Gallart; her husband Douglas; her son David; and two brothers, Louis Gallart and William Gallart. She is survived by her son Steve and his wife Mary Ann; her granddaughter Michelle (Univ. of Alabama); as well as her three sisters, Dulce Lorenzo (Edison New Jersey), Bertha Gardner (Nassau Bahamas) and Carmelina de la Maza (San Antonio); and several nieces and nephews. Gladys was known as the "hostess with the mostest" and worked several years as an LVN. The family wishes to thank the staff at Regent Care Blanco Nursing Home who lovingly cared for Gladys like family during her 4 and half year residence there.
