She died peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Inocencia Garcia and Fabian Martinez, and her grandson, Leonard James III.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Rufino Irizarry; children, Gonzalo Briones and wife, Leticia; Fernando Briones; Ruth Irizarry; Rufino Irizarry, Jr. and wife, Lourdes; Reynaldo Irizarry; Maria James and husband, Leonard; and 13 grandchildren.
She arrived in the United States at a very young age from San Luis Potosi, Mexico for a better life and a new start.
She began her new life in Chicago, Illinois and later moved to San Antonio.
She suffered many years with complications from diabetes and kidney failure. The family is consoled knowing she is resting in peace.
Gloria was always a hard worker and enjoyed cooking, crafts, music and was very devoted to her family. We love you Mom.
