Gloria Ruiz

Gloria Ruiz, age 88, of San Antonio, Texas, entered into eternal rest on April 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 11, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas, to Adalberto Ruiz and Esperanza Huante Ruiz.

Gloria was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who devoted her life to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children: her son, Arthur Vasquez; and her daughters, Annette Vasquez and Jeanette Rice. Her legacy lives on through her 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Gloria is also survived by her siblings: David Ruiz (Donna), Paul Ruiz (Margie), Miguel Ruiz, Adalberto Ruiz Jr. (Rosa), Fernando Ruiz (Inez), Victor Ruiz (Barbara) and her sisters; Martha Ruiz, Rosie Ruiz, sister-in-laws; Janice Ruiz, and Blanca Ruiz along with 73 nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Gloria is reunited in heaven with her parents, Adalberto Ruiz and Esperanza Huante Ruiz; her twin sister, Esperanza Ruiz; her sisters, Clara Ruiz, and Maria Elena Alexander Ruiz; her brothers; Hector Ruiz, Ralph Ruiz, Philip Ruiz, and Juan Ruiz, her ex son-in-law, Victor Ochoa Sr., Willie Rice Jr, her granddaughter; Jennell Ochoa, and her son; Alex Vasquez.

Gloria had a deep love for music and was known for her beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed playing the piano and brought joy to those around her with her talent and warm spirit. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave to her family.

Though she is no longer with us, her love and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on April 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

A Processional will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 am for a Mass of the Resurrection that will take place at Immaculate Conception, 314 Merida St, San Antonio, TX 78207, on April 29, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by Committal at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
