Graciela H Chapa

Gracie was born to Ysabel Herrera and Mary Alice Herrera on the 14th of August 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated with her GED from Edgewood High School in 1994 and received a certificate in Business Information processing from San Antonio college of Medical and Dental Assistance and most recently completed her studies as a Billing and coding Specialist due to cross stage on November 8th of 2024. She married Jesus S. Chapa on December 23, 1992, and they lived together in San Antonio Texas. Together they raised their children from previous marriages.

She is survived by: ex-husband Ruben V. Hernandez and sister in law Hilda Herrera, brother Gustavo Herrera and Sister Elia Nava and her Husband Trini Nava. Her children Michael Anthony Hernandez his wife Antonia Hernandez. Melanie H. Smadi her husband Maen H. Smadi. Maxine Hernandez Castillo and her husband John Raymond Castillo Sr. Her grandchildren Jesse Michael Steven Hernandez and wife Alyssa Hernandez, Alicia Selena Marty, Isaac Matthew Smadi, John Raymond Castillo Jr., Nathan Xavier Castillo, Adrian Rene Castillo, Michael James Castillo. Great Grand Daughter Reyna Daryl Hernandez.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ysabel and Mary Alice Herrera, Husband Jesus S. Chapa, Sister-in-law Josie Herrera, Brothers Ysabel Herrera Jr. His wife Santa Herrera, Lorenzo Herrera and wife Rosie Herrera, Ruben Herrera and wife Sarita Herrera.

She enjoyed hobbies and interests such as crafting visiting friends and relatives. She was also actively involved in her Church St John Newmann.

A Viewing and Rosary is scheduled for November 21st, starting 4pm at Sunset Funeral home with service starting at 11am on November 22nd followed by burial. A reception will follow at 7151 Woodlake Parkway community center. The family would also like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and prayers.
