Guadalupe Gonzales Bernal

Guadalupe (Lupe) Gonzales Bernal was born in San Antonio on June 27, 1946. She lived in San Antonio for most of her life. She was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away at the age of 73 on October 25, 2019.

Lupe married Johnny Bernal when she was 17. She had 9 loving children, 7 boys and 2 girls. She was celebrated as being a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the casino and thrift shopping. She also enjoyed fishing, taking trips with her sisters and spending time with her beloved family. Lupe was a big card shark playing anything from Uno to Texas Hold ‘Em.

Lupe is survived by her husband Johnny Bernal, her children: Johnny and wife Shay, Richard and wife Aurora, Ray, Laurie, Mark, Jason, Missy Cisneros and husband Frank, Jeff and wife Sjanna, Moses, 27 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, sisters: Gloria De La Garza, Eleanor Mart, Margie Prado and brother Frank Gonzales. She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Hernandez Gonzales and Francisco Macias Gonzales, brothers: Pete, Johnny, and Raymond.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 4, 2019 from 4pm-8pm with a rosary at 6pm at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 10am at Sunset Funeral Home with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
