Guadalupe H. Martinez

Guadalupe H. Martinez, age 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her parents Ramon and Maria Tiniente Hernandez, daughter Luisa Martinez, brothers, Salomon, Ramon, Adolfo, Juan and Hipolito Hernandez and sister Concepcion Arevalo. Also preceded in death by her grandson Joel Zapata, Jr.

Guadalupe was born on November 25, 1943 in Asherton, Texas.

Guadalupe was a devoted mother. She loved spending time with her children. She taught with love and by example. She taught her children to serve others before ourselves. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

Guadalupe also became a member of the church “The Light of the World,” where she joined the choir and was always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with her children and others. She was an active member, volunteering for various causes and church functions.

Guadalupe is survived by her children, Ana Vilma Vasquez and husband Tivurcio of Ohio, Christina Zapata and husband Joel of Uvalde, Cleto Martinez III, Veronica Fabela and husband Jonathan, Benjamin Martinez, Consuelo Gonzalez and husband Salomon, and Monica Martinez all of San Antonio, Texas, and their father Cleto Martinez, Jr. Guadalupe is also survived by her grandchildren, David Lee, Jose Luis, Adam and Arabella Vasquez, Jael Merai and Ethan I. Zapata, Esmerai, Elianai and Nathan Martinez, Siquem Atlai Martinez, Ezra Hazaiah Martinez, Alpha Ebenezer, Sabethai Alexia and Jonathan Asiel Fabela, Isai, Zachary and Bethany Martinez, Steven and Eden Mizar Gonzalez, Angel Anthony, Athyena Crystal, IIyza Jenesis, Maresa Sarai, Ariel Elisheba Martinez. Great Grandchildren, Ezrahleigh Marie Vasquez, Sofia Marie Vasquez, Jose Luis Vasquez, Jr, Isabella R Vasquez, Jezreel Azael, Jacibe Elizabeth Gonzalez.

She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Ben Martinez, Cleto Martinez III, Steven Gonzalez, Jonathan Fabela, Jr, Salomon Gonzalez, Ethan Zapata, Angel Martinez and Jonathan Fabela, Sr.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Ave. San Antonio, TX, 78212.
