

Guadalupe Saldaña Perez is survived by his loving wife Mercedes Saldaña; children Irma Saldaña, Candelario Saldaña, Esdel Lopez, Adan Saldaña, Leandra Flores, Norma Gutierrez, Mercedes Martinez, Guadalupe Saldaña, Martin Jaime Saldaña; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He was a loving father, grandfather, and husband. He loved the outdoors and would walk from the west side to the north side, all in one day. He would walk miles and miles. He was born in La Union Morales and lived most of his life in Monterrey, Mexico, where he raised all of his children. He came to the U.S. with his wife and most of his children, in the late 1970s. He resided in San Antonio, Texas with his wife and most of his children. He loved spearfishing and hunting in his younger days and always believed he was of an Indian heritage, yet unknown which one. He was always buying his grandkids candy from Mexico. He loved Hersheys and Coca-Cola. He also loved Jesus and the Lord God. A visitation will begin 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at Treviño Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home 9:30 a.m. January 24, 2012 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2. Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
