Guadalupe Casarez Resendez was born on the 16th of December, 1929, in Laredo, Texas to Donaciano and Delfina Casarez. She completed the 5th grade before having to help her family work in the fields. She met and married Elijio Resendez when she was seventeen. Lupe became a wife and devoted mother to her children.
The family moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1957. She became the neighborhood school bus; even taking other kids to school. The church was her outlet to sing with the Sunday choir. With twelve children to raise, Lupe’s strength in her role of motherhood blossomed and flourish.
Once all her children grew up and started living on their own, she decided with courage to start a new chapter on her own too. In her early fifties she joined the workforce, becoming a provider for an elder woman, and becoming an independent woman. She enjoyed dancing every weekend with the occasional casino getaway. Retiring from work, but never motherhood, she enjoyed family time and going to bingo at the local dance hall.
Laugher filled her home, with complete love from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Lupe Resendez was the pillar of the family that will be missed greatly. She is survived by her sister, her twelve children, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
The family is grateful to have had her in our lives for ninety years, and will treasure those years as the most beautiful memory we could have ever asked for. Thanks to this beautiful, loving, and caring mother; we all know what true love is.
On the 29th of April, 2020, Guadalupe Casarez Resendez took her last breath with her loving family surrounding her. She is now joining her parents, brother, sisters, and all those loving souls on the golden dance floor with God’s beautiful embrace.
