At her home, surrounded by family, Guadalupe C. Valdez age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 25, 2020 on what would have been her 66th wedding anniversary. In her final days, mom asked for a new dress and shoes so she could go dancing; little did we know she’d be dancing with our father, her one true love in heaven, soon thereafter.

Our mom was a lifelong parishioner of San Fernando Cathedral, and would faithfully attend Sunday morning mass with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going out for breakfast following mass, at one of her favorite restaurants; Lisa’s. Mom loved to cook when she was able to, and especially looked forward to the holidays as her home was a frequent gathering place for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
She was a loving mother and an amazing grandmother who had a hand in raising each of her grandchildren. Grandma, or “Gma”, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, will be greatly missed. Her love, smile, and joyful spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 beginning at 6:00 P.M. with a rosary service for Guadalupe at 7:00. PM. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 9:15 AM for a 10:00 AM mass at The San Fernando Cathedral, with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
