Guillermo Riojas

PFC Guillermo Riojas, U.S. Army Veteran born on October 19, 1922 in Austin,TX went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2011 at the age of 88. He served during World War II 4 tours overseas and received the EAME Campaign Medal and 3 Bronze Stars. Mr. Riojas was an active member of St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church, The Athletic Club, The Men’s Club, and was awarded man of the year. He is preceded in death by his wife, Graciela P. Riojas, a son, Juan Guillermo Riojas, a daughter, Gracie Riojas, and a granddaughter, Jessica Riojas. He is survived by his sons and daughters, Richard Riojas, Carmen R. Trejo (George, Jr.), Frank Riojas (Lucy), Susan P. Riojas, Alfredo Riojas, (Alvie), Sandra (Cindy) Colunga (Ted), Ernest Riojas (Sonia Lopez), and Bobby Riojas (Naomi); also, 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary that same evening. Procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2011 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2. Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
