Gustavo B. Prado, Jr, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020 in San Antonio Texas at the age of 91. He was born in San Antonio Texas on August 9, 1928 to Gustavo Prado Sr and Emilia Prado. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Prado of 58 years, and brother, Abe Prado.
He is survived by 6 children, Gus B. Prado III and wife Miriam, Cindi P. Suarez, Jerry B. Prado, Diana P. Vara and husband Tony, Sandra P. Babb and husband Donnie, Patty P. Guajardo and husband Cesar; sister, Helen Centobie, 9 grandchildren, Jacob Suarez, Christopher Suarez, Jaclyn Baglioni, Ryan Vara, Dylan Babb, Lillian Babb, Aleks Guajardo, Sofia Guajardo and Jessica Prado; 2 great grandchildren. Natilyn Baglioni and Meila McCloud.
As a military veteran, Gustavo served in the Navy for 2 years as a Naval Signalman & Army for 20 years. During his time in the Army, he served two tours in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his second tour in Vietnam, he was a Combat Flight Medic.
Funeral Services: Visitation, Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, Texas, 78238. Funeral mass Monday, March 2, 2020 at 10:00am at St Jude Catholic Church, 130 S Augustine Street, San Antonio Texas, 78237, followed by the burial at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:15am with U.S. Army military honors.
