

Gwendolyn Bryant Grossman passed away on June 9, 2012 at Odyssey House in San Antonio of causes incident to age. She was born on August 1, 1922 to Raymond G. Bryant and Minnie B. Ezzell at Buckholts, Texas. She married Mitchell Grossman in 1942.
For all of her adult life she was a teacher in the Texas school system. She held a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from Southern Methodist University, a Master's Degree in education from the University of Houston, and a Ph.D. in Education degree from the University of Houston. She strove to enhance and extend her education and teaching skills through educational tours and courses in the U.S. as well as Europe conferences. She loved to write poetry and was an avid reader of literature. She ended her professional teaching career as an assistant professor at Prairie View A&M University of Texas.
She was a member of many professional organizations and her genealogy allows her membership in the DAR, DRT and the Daughters of the Confederacy. Her life has been a blessing and gift to her family and friends, her students and professional associates.
Gwendolyn lived as a genuine Christian whose total existence was dedicated to her Heavenly Father. Her endeavor was to install moral and ethical values that benefit Christian living.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Surviving her are her sister Bernice B. Galaznik of Lake Jackson, Texas; a brother, Raymond G. Bryant Jr. of Ogden, Utah; a son, Charles Grossman Abraham of San Antonio; and two grandsons, and adopted daughter Mayra Ramirez.
Friends may visit the family at Porter Loring Mortuary North from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, June 11.
