

CMSgt ret Harvey Harold Warner Jr, age 77, born April 27, 1930 in Elwood, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Monday, 28 January 2008.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 55 years, Ilene and their four children; daughters, Alicia and her husband Richard, and Kimmerlee and her husband Harold, and granddaughters, Tiffany and Lindsay; son, David and his wife Lori, and granddaughters, Brittney and Ashley; and his youngest daughter Suzanne.
Chief Warner served in the USAF from July 1948 until Nov 1976 in the ground radio and radar maintenance fields as part of the Security Service command. His 28 yrs of service to his country took Chief Warner and his family around the globe to 13 different locations, including a 1965 tour in Pakistan.
This assignment occurred during Pakistan's war with India over Kashmir and involved the evacuation of the family to Turkey. Upon his retirement in 1976, Chief Warner and his wife Ilene took up full time residence in San Antonio. He was followed into the USAF by his son who is now serving in Colorado Springs as a Brigadier General.
After his retirement Chief Warner completed a degree at San Antonio College and began working with Church's Fried Chicken providing documentation and technical support services as the company continued to grow and evolve. Harvey enjoyed his golf primarily for the pure joy of meeting and sharing with old and new friends.
Many of Harvey's best friends and brothers were a result of a chance meeting on the golf course. You know who you are and he loved you dearly. He and his wife Ilene enjoyed traveling with their children and grandchildren.
Chief Warner spent the past several years caring for the love of his life as she battled Alzheimer's. He was an exemplary servant, loving husband, and phenomenal father!
