

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and three sisters.
He is survived by his nephew and wife, Jim and Carol Deters of Tucson AZ; niece, Sharon Scott of Chillicothe, IL; nephew, Donald and Betsy Deters of Flanagan, IL; and his lifelong friend, Jim Gamble of San Antonio, TX.
Harvey served in the Navy during WWII and was aboard the Ticonderoga which was hit by Kamikazes off the coast of Japan near the end of the war. He was discharged from the Navy in 1945. Prior to WWII he worked for the newly formed Social Security Department in Baltimore in the late 1930's until he enlisted in the Navy.
After WWII he settled in Miami, FL where he worked in hotel management for over 30 years. He settled in San Antonio about 12 years ago and was being cared for at the Seraphim Assisted Living Facility in San Antonio at the time of his death.
Harvey's family wants to thank the staff of Seraphim Assisted Living for taking such good care of him during his final days.
