She was born in San Antonio and met her beloved husband while working at Kelly Air Force Base. They married after the war and moved to California where they began their family. Hazel was happy raising her son and helping out at the local Catholic school system.
After Charles' retirement, they moved back to San Antonio to be closer to family. Her greatest love was spoiling her grandchildren and loving all dogs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Miller; sister, Bessie F. Felder; brothers, Thomas and "Cookie" Dempsey.
She is survived by her son, James Miller and wife Carol; two grandchildren, Lauren and Marc; sister, Mary Haecker; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Haecker Ryan and husband John, John Michael Dempsey, Patrick Dempsey, and Daniel Dempsey.
