

Helen V. Mendoza, devoted mother of five children and adoring and loving wife of sixty-one (61) years to Paul Mendoza, passed away the 26th of September 2022. Helen was born on December 1, 1930, in Asherton, Texas to Nemecio Vasquez and Maria Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, her parents and four siblings. Helen graduated from San Fernando Catholic High School in San Antonio, Texas. Besides being a wonderful homemaker, she briefly worked at The Cutting Edge in Ingram Mall and Parker Uniforms.
Helen is survived by her children, Ronald Edwin Mendoza (Susie Ramos Mendoza), Roger Glenn Mendoza, Randall Paul Mendoza (Eva Yolanda Garza Mendoza), Rosanna Mendoza Goff (Rick Goff), Rodney Carl Mendoza (Loretta Pizzini Mendoza); grandchildren, Felicia Mendoza Smith (Brad Smith), Melissa Mendoza Tully (George Tully), Randall Paul Mendoza II (Marcianne Richter Mendoza), Jessica Marie Mendoza (fiancé, Nathan Alan Adcock), Raynor Paul Mendoza (Brittany Mendoza), Alyssa Pena Machingo (John Machingo), Rayven Eve Mendoza, and Eryka Jane Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Noah Edwin Smith, Jacob Austin Smith, Sophia Anne Mendoza, George Arthur Tully, Mila Rae Mendoza, Lucy Caroline Tully, Raylee Mae Mendoza and future great-granddaughter.
Helen will be most remembered for her delicious 24-hour salad, chicken mole, soft chicken tacos, her famous potato salad and numerous other scrumptious dishes. She enjoyed the family gatherings, all holidays, especially hosting Thanksgiving for all of her family, and making her famous sausage guisada breakfast tacos to enjoy on Christmas morning, along with her favorite Christmas beverage, bourbon spiked eggnog.
We would like to give special recognition to Amedisys Hospice for their loving care, especially Joanna Cavazos and Teresa Jones. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary.
