Angelica “Helen” Rogers was born in Saspamco, TX on January 31, 1923 to Tirso and Petra (Cantu) Garcia, and passed away on June 22, 2015 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 92. She loved gardening and getting dressed up to go dancing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Rogers; son, Leo Edward Amaro; step-daughter, Suzanne Richter; brother and sisters, Frank Garcia, Mary Hernandez and Susie Castellano. Helen is survived by her daughter, Yvonne D. Dear (Richard Rosales); step daughter, Becky Rogers (Earl); step-son, Ricky Rogers (Terri); grandsons, Rudy Cruz (Roberta), Richard Cruz (Karen); grandchildren, Anthony, Brandon and Jillian Cruz; brother, Richard Garcia; sister, Sarah Maldonado. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 1710 Clower San Antonio, TX 78201. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
