Herbert Allen Larson , age 87, passed away on July 2, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. Herb proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII after which he was employed by Exxon Chemical for 36 years. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and they adored him. Herb was King of Mardi Gras at Diamondhead, Mississippi. He enjoyed his active retirement as an avid golfer and gardener and ran golf tournaments for the March of Dimes.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Larson.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie; his children, Marjorie Kopacsi and husband, Joseph, Melanie Bergeron and husband, David, Rodney Larson and wife, Carol, Marianne Serle and husband, Mark; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian Sliek, and numerous nieces, and nephews.
A service was held Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
Father Charles Kachan officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
