

She grew up in Bay City, Texas until she married and moved to Sweeny, Texas. In 1971, she then moved to Angleton, Texas where she lived for 32 years. When she remarried in 2003, she moved to Euless, Texas, and then finally retired here in San Antonio, Texas.
She worked at Intermedics until they closed their doors. She worked for a company in Houston for a short time before going to Cardinal Health where she retired.
She was a member of My Church where she served on Amazing Grace Church Retreats and volunteered for Church Under the Bridge. She loved serving others when she could. She was an active member of the PTA for Regency Elementary where she served as President. She was an active member of PTA at Steubing Ranch Elementary where she volunteered and then served as President from 2017-2018 while simultaneously serving as Box Top Chairperson. She volunteered to be there for her great-grandchildren, and all other children in need.
She was a beloved daughter, wife, mom, nana, sister, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward T. Chagoy, her friend, ex-husband Jesus P. Perez, her mother Elvira M. Sanchez and father Atanacio L. Sanchez, sister-in-law Georgia Hernandez, brother-in-law Joe Hernandez, brother-in-law Antonio Estrada, ex-in-laws Antonio Perez and Margarita Perez, mother-in-law, Juanita Tame Davila and father-in-law Arturo Davila. She is reunited with them now praising and rejoicing in Heaven.
She loved her family unconditionally and she left an imprint on each of them as she shined and loved as Jesus did. She will be missed more than she will ever know, but her family and all those she touched will carry her in their heart.
She is survived by her children; Vincent E. Perez of San Antonio, Priscilla J. Nash of San Antonio, (Craig Nash), and Edward A. Chagoy of San Antonio, (Laura). Her grandchildren; Jasmine A. Zavala of San Antonio, (Johnny Guiterrez), Valerie M. Zavala of San Antonio, Marc A. Zavala of San Antonio, (Rachelle Yates), Jessica V. Althaus of San Antonio, (Candi Althaus), CJ Nash of San Antonio, (Ashley Nash), Elijah C. Nash of San Antonio, Cameron Cortez of San Antonio, and Caleb Luke Edward Chagoy of San Antonio. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren; Jayvin Ray Perez of San Antonio, Joshua Ryan Perez of San Antonio, Jonathan Michael Perez of San Antonio, Aurora Isabel Zavala of San Antonio, Mila Rey Zavala of San Antonio and Nolan Anthony Zavala who will be here in July, 2021. Her siblings; Dolores Gonzales of Bay City, Mario Sanchez of Houston, (Mercedes), Janie Perez of Katy, (Ernest), David Sanchez of Victoria, (Judy) and Maria Estrada of Texas City. She treated her in-laws as her sisters and brothers, so she is additionally survived by; Gilbert and Cindy Lopez of San Antonio, Sam and Candy Flores of South Carolina, Randy Davila of San Antonio, Juanita Guerra, (George Irvin), Arturo Davila, Jr., George and Delfina Soria of Angleton, Antonio Perez of Sweeny, Eloy and Hermina Hinojosa of Angleton, Joe Perez of Sweeny and Carlos Perez of Sweeny. Lastly, she had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much as her own. She touched many of her children’s and grandchildren’s friends who knew her as Nana or Anita.
She was married to Jesus P. Perez for 25 years. After their divorce, her Perez family became and will continue to always will be her family. She remarried the love of her life, Edward T. Chagoy, in September 2003, and her family grew even bigger. She gained a son, sisters, brothers, and many more nieces and nephews.
Celebrate her life and cherish the memories you have of her. Smile as she always did and continue to spread unconditional love to everyone.
