Chachi was always very accommodating whenever I saw her.  She was an excellent host, who always wore a welcome smile & made sure that you were well-fed.  Best of all, she fully complimented Robert as a loving, loyal & dutiful wife.  She will be dearly missed, but her full reward will be eternal life. (John 3v 16)

Hortencia and i have worked alongside each other since the late eighties. And during our tenure with UHS we worked on different shifts and in departments until more recently in late 2019 when I joined her team in the volunteer services department. In those short 3 years she inspired me to put my best foot forward. She had a way of engaging all the volunteers and made everyone feel welcomed and empowered to help the various departments throughout UHS. I retired before this unfortunate course in her life but she and the volunteer team went out of their way to make my retirement day very special but that was the person she was. She will be greatly missed by many and will always hold a special place in my heart.   RIP my dear friend 

When I heard you were gone, I cried.  You were a shining spirit, so full of life, such a big heart.

She is such a beautiful soul!  I had the pleasure of working with her in a previous job and worked with her department on different projects.  She was a joy to be around and she always had a positive outlook.  She used to always invite me to events and lunches by Volunteer Department.  She was such a woman of many different hats and was such a professional at her job and did everything with ease!  I always appreciated when she would have Volunteer Department bring up the pets to our department and it would be make my day.  She always thought of things to do like that to brighten up our day.  She will be dearly missed and she definitely made a remarkable impact on me.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

Chachi was the first person I met over 21 years ago when I started working at UH. She was so warm and friendly, that we became instant friends. Throughout the years, we also managed to work together at Community First and shared many great times and laughs. She was such a wonderful person, so positive and cheerful. I always enjoyed our talks. She will definitely be missed by everyone whose life she touched. Chachi was one-of-a-kind and will always be remembered. My most sincere condolences to Rob and her entire family.

It was such a pleasure being able to meet Hortencia. Her soul and personality was so lovely and bright. I will forever cherish the stories ya’ll shared with me. May she Rest In Peace. 

It was such a pleasure working with Hortencia on the various projects with Community First Health Plans.  I will miss her beautiful smile, and her amazing disposition.  I enjoyed my conversations with her throughout the years. 

May you rest in peace. 

What a beautiful soul. We knew her through UH Pet Therapy as she provided the program and even accompanied us on visits for years.  We were always amazed, everyone knew her in every place we visited throughout University Health, Robert Green and off-site UHS offices.  She was so very special and we are sorry for your loss. Her group had a retirement party for our dog, Shiloh in this photo. She will probably do a few pet therapy visits with him in Heaven. Angels, get ready to be organized. She always had glowing remarks about her family and especially her husband.  She is truly a beautiful soul.
