
Hortencia Villarreal Ojeda passed on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at her residence with her family at her side. Hortencia, known to many as Mamo, was born on September 25, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to wonderful parents, Paul and Luz Villarreal.A loving wife, our beloved mother and grandmother will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mamo touched the hearts of many.Mamo attended Sidney Lanier High School where she met Samuel A. Ojeda and were married on April 1, 1950. She is survived by her beloved husband, Samuel A. Ojeda and they were blessed with three surviving children: Roger and daughter-in-law, Ann Ojeda; Sandra Ojeda Medina and son-in-law, Noe Medina; and Richard Ojeda, all of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren: Kellie and Patrick Johnson, Alison Ojeda, Lauren and Jimmy Ramos, Marisa Medina, Omar and Bridgette Medina; Emily and Jarrett Carr; Hill and Sarah K. Ojeda; and Sarah E. Ojeda and fianc, Mark Manny; eleven great-grandchildren: Barrett, Landry, Cooper, Lily, Sam, Sicily, Paisley, Robert Drake, Jake, Chole and Nathaniel. Mamo's surviving siblings are: Olga Yglesias, Rudy and Cookie Villarreal, Eva Chacon and Joe Villarreal.Mamo enjoyed spending her time with family. She emphasized caring and kindness of family to her children and grandchildren. She was a devout member of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Sam spent many Wednesday evenings preparing her famous enchilada dinners for church members ~ when Mamo cooked, they were sure to attend!Religion was a factor in her life and the basic foundation and legacy she left for her family.While floral tributes are always appreciated, the family suggests contributions be made the to the American Cancer Society, 8115 Datapoint Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229 or the American Diabetes Association, 8610 N.
