

Idagene “Jean” Carver, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt went to be with the Lord early Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the age of 89, after a long, slow decline from vascular dementia. She was born in Rocksprings, Texas on January 12, 1924 to Irene Glossbrenner and Thomas Taylor Henderson, Sr. and was raised on the Henderson family ranch in Edwards County before relocating to Kerrville as a teenager where she graduated from Tivy High School. She moved to San Antonio to attend Business College and later worked for several doctors in the downtown area. Jean enjoyed dancing, listening to music, traveling, taking pictures, cooking wonderful meals, and spending lots of time with her family.
She will be reunited in heaven with her parents; in-laws; brother, Thomas T. Henderson, Jr.; son, John F. Carver, and many other relatives.
She is survived by her devoted husband of over 66 years, John D. Carver; son, Jay T. Carver (Laura); daughters, Candace Thompson (Bill) and Joy Holley (Van); grandchildren, Drake Gafford, Blayne Carver, Sloane Carver, Will Holley, and Elena Holley; great grandson, Blayne Gafford; and sisters, Norma Henderson and Diana Lewis. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
