Irene Cruz Austria, beloved by family and many friends, died after a brief illness on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the age of 92. She was born on January 26, 1927, in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, Luzon, Philippines.
She is survived by five children: Tess Nasis and husband, Al; George Austria and wife, Cindy; Lona Sanchez and husband, Robert; Celia Boyce and husband, Patrick; and Leticia Austria, as well as seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Pepe and Tommy Cruz and their spouses, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, MSG Benjamin C. Austria; her daughters: Magdalena Austria, Alicia Eastman and son, Benjamin Austria, Jr.; her parents, Sotero and Simona Cruz; a sister and four brothers.
