

Irene Sandoval was born on February 26, 1961. She attended Fox Tech High School where she began her glam and sparkle life while performing with the Red Jackets. Go Buffaloes! After graduating with the class of 1979, she pursued a career in the banking industry at San Antonio Teacher’s Credit Union (now Firstmark Credit Union) she moved up the ladder to hold the position of bank manager. After leaving the bank she became the property manager at Lynd Company and UAG for several years. She formed tight bonds with her classmates from high school and was the Treasurer for the Fox Tech Class of 1979 Reunion Committee. Irene loved to travel, spending time at the beach, going to market days, and attending games to see her favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and tending to her plants. She was very outgoing and loved to spend time with her family and friends. Christmas was her favorite holiday, she also loved and always looked forward to Fiesta every year and having great seats at the parades. She overcame medical struggles to fulfill God’s mission to take care of her sister and her mother prior to their passings. Irene was at peace with God’s will and she was with loved ones when the Lord took her into his arms on Wednesday November 12, 2025. Irene is preceded in death by her mother, Connie Hernandez; her sister, Elizabeth Hernandez; her former spouse, Albert Sandoval Sr; and her dog-daughter, Angel. Irene is survived by her father, Edward Lopez; her son, Albert V. Sandoval Jr; her dog-daughter, Chloe; brothers, Raymond Vasquez and Gilbert S. Hernandez, Jr (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Pati Vasquez; nephews and niece, Nicolas Rivas(Vanessa), Vincent Vasquez, Justine Carreon(Justin); Jacob Hernandez, Aydin Hernandez, Max Hernandez, and Michael Hernandez; grand-nieces, Monroe and Lucille Rivas; best friends, Judy and Maggie; and so many more lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on November 19, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A Rosary will take place at the same venue from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The Funeral Mass is scheduled for November 20, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2114 W Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78207, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The Committal will follow at Wild Flower Cemetery, 10392 Kriewald Rd, San Antonio, TX 78245, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
