Irene Helen Wright

Irene Helen Zimmermann Wright was born the 2nd day of April, 1915, in San Antonio, Texas, and died the 14th day of October, 2002, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a descendant of a Texas pioneer family which came with Henri Castro from Alsace Lorraine, France, to settle Castroville, Texas in 1842. Irene was the second eldest of eleven children born to Edmund Zimmermann and Leonora Elizabeth Rihn Zimmermann. She was educated at Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1932. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Upon the death of her husband, Nile William Wright, Sr., in 1971, a founder of PECO, INC., she took over his position in the company as President and Chairman of the Board and continued to work there until her retirement in the year 2000 at the age of 85. She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Kylie Nicole Wright, as well as her brothers William and Joseph Zimmermann in their infancy, Howard Zimmermann and his wife Doris, and Leon Zimmermann, and brother-in-law James Jory. A loving and devoted mother, she is survived by her sons Nile William Wright, Jr. and his wife Yolanda, Thomas Edmund Wright and his wife Jane, and George Howard Wright and his wife Susan, all of San Antonio; daughter Cheryl Ann Wright Longoria and her husband Ricardo, of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; grandchildren Deborah Wright Kempf, Nile William Wright III, Rebecca Wright Kottler, Jennifer Wright Goode, Nile William Wright IV, Courtney Elizabeth Wright, Thomas Edmund Wright, Jr., William Gordon Wright, Suzanne Wright Torres, Gregory William Wright, Kristen Leigh Wright, Ricardo Elliott Longoria, Jr., Carlos Federico Longoria, and Cassandra Nile Longoria. She has six remaining brothers and sisters, Raymond Arthur Zimmermann and his wife Lila, James Dennis Zimmermann and his wife Nina, Owen Harold Zimmermann and his wife Annette, Myrtle Zimmermann Jory, Doris Zimmermann Barr and her husband Edward, all of San Antonio, Vivian Zimmermann Duffin and her husband Gail of Austin, TX, sister-in-law Lenora Zimmermann of Floresville, TX, and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons,
