

Irma Lea was born on January 26, 1943. She was one of four children born to the late Jeff and Ella Irma Sargent Sr. in Washington, County, Texas. Irma confessed to Christ at an early age and was baptized in 1950 at Live Oak Baptist Church, Galveston Texas.
She was raised and educated in Galveston County and attended Texas Southern University.
On January 19, 1973, Irma was joined in holy matrimony to August Harris. This union was blessed with four children. Irma spent twenty-four plus years as an USAF military wife. She moved several times during this period to places like Zaragoza Air Base Spain, Bergstrom AFB, Austin, Texas and Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas.
Irma spent her life caring for her children and grandchildren. We fondly remember the nicknames she had for everyone in the family and was a beacon of light in every room she entered. Irma Lea loved music. She would aways hum her own tunes. Her other interests included word games, puzzles, gardening, shopping, mystery, and home improvement shows.
Irma Lea departed this life on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Left with many precious memories are: Her devoted husband of 50 years, August Harris Jr. Her loving children, Heather Willams and husband Billy Ray, Dawn Manning and husband Nathaniel, Ericka Harris and August Harris III, all of San Antonio, Texas. Her two sisters, Lois Sargent-Warren and Mildred Sargent-Sam both of Galveston, Texas. Her grandbabies, Cameron, Jordan, Braedon, Jaysen, Evann, Geneva, Brooklynn, Frederick, Garrison (of Dallas Tx.), Serandon, Imani, and Farrah all of San Antonio, Texas. Along with many more nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and her surviving Brother and Sister-In-Law.
Remembering her late brother Jeff Sargent Jr. and all those who passed away before her.
