Irma G. Valdez

On September 12, 2025 Irma G. Valdez passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Irma was born in San Antonio, TX on August 22, 1955 to Mr. and Mrs. Ricardo and Manuela Guzman. She was married to her beloved husband Ramon Valdez on March 10, 1975. Irma worked at Kelly Air Force Base and Kmart. She was a devoted member of St. Clare Catholic Church dating back to her childhood years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ricardo and Manuela Guzman, sister Olivia Bello, sister Maria Hernandez.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years Ramon Valdez, daughter, Angelica-Valdez Coronado, sons, Raymond Valdez Jr., Richard Isaac Valdez along with three grandchildren, Arianna Saleen Valdez-Coronado, Camila Briel-Reyes Valdez and Augustine Ruben Reyes-Valdez; Son in law Edward Coronado and Daughter in law Elizabeth Nicole Reyes-Valdez, Sister Rose Montenegro and many nieces and nephews.

Our mother Irma loved her family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with family, going places together, enjoying family dinners at home eating her delicious chicken mole with rice and chicken salad. Irma was a proud South San High School alumni, often attending each football game to watch her granddaughter perform. She enjoyed going on adventures with her grandchildren and creating everlasting memories. Mom had a passion for singing in the choir at St. Clare Catholic Church for many years. She was incredibly devoted to St. Clare Church, never missing a Sunday mass. Her hobbies included singing karaoke to her favorite artist “Selena”, playing bingo with her friends, and making videos with her beloved dogs Baloo and Bingo. Her favorite midnight snack was Whataburger, which she regularly enjoyed with her sister Rose. She touched so many lives and always thought about others first. Mom was a true example of a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend. Our mom will forever remain in our hearts.

A visitation for Irma will be held on Monday September 22, 2025 from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at Trevino Funeral Home 2525 Palo Alto Rd. San Antonio TX 78211 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Mass of resurrection will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2025 10:00am at St. Clare Catholic Church 7701 Somerset Rd. San Antonio, TX 78211 with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian 11624 Culebra Rd. San Antonio, TX 78253.
