Isabelle R. Williams passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the remarkable age of 99. A woman of the Great Era, she proudly joined the US Army Air Corps on May 17, 1943, served during WWII and fulfilled her term of service on July 26, 1946.
She instilled education to her children and devoted her life to supporting her family. She consistently inspired all those around her with her generosity and dignity.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Col. Joe R. Williams and daughter Jeanne Allison and is survived by her loving daughter Mollie McCook Melton and husband, Jim and son in law Barry Allison. She was blessed with three beautiful granddaughters: Mollie Allison, Bonnie Allison and Nicole Griffis; one grandson, Ross McCook and one great grandson, Wren Griffis.
My Mom always treasured being a wife and mother and was especially blessed with many wonderful friends of whom she valued each relationship. She was deeply loved and we will hold her memory in our hearts. Our family extends our gratitude to Mom's caregivers for their compassion, friendship and skilled assistance throughout the time we had her. We would like to specifically recognize Visiting Angels, Hospice of Lubbock, and the Palliative Medicine Unit, Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lubbock.
