

Jack graduated from Peacock Military Academy, San Antonio and from West Point Military Academy in 1947. He married Marion "Bunty" Browne in 1948. Jack served in the United States Air Force as a pilot.
His military career consisted of service during World War II, Korea and the Cold War Era. After leaving military service, he joined the civil service at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio.
He worked in the early implementation of computers. After retiring from civil service, he was an Associate Professor at San Antonio College in the computer field for many years.
He was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church and his involvement in the Episcopal Church included service as a lay reader, usher and EFM graduate. Jack had a wonderful sense of humor, and was gentle, loving and caring with everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Bunty; son, Bruce Palmer of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Connie and husband, Joe Maverick of Wimberley, Texas; sister-in-law, Thelmarie Browne of San Antonio; cousin, Annette Taylor of Littleton, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
