

Jack Stephens was born on January 24, 1946 in Brownfield, TX. He was preceded in death by his father Frank C. Stephens, his mother Alpha Mae Stephens, his brother John Stephens, and his sister Frankie Hill.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret Stephens, his daughter Shauna Stephens (Sam) and son Jeremy Stephens. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Alyssa Stephens, Samantha Moore, Madison Moore, Sophia Stephens, and Maverick Stephens, along with his sister Judy Collins, his sister/niece Sandy Simpson and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
On October 21, 1972 he married the love of his life Margaret Stephens and they were married a day away from 50 years.
As a child he helped his parents with farming and excavation. Upon graduating from Brownfield High School; he attended South Plains Junior College and was then drafted into the Army for 2 years. He then completed his Associates degree at South Plains Junior College and his Bachelor’s degree at Southwest Texas. He was a proud brother in the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. He continued his work experience with USAA where he retired in 2001.
He enjoyed camping, traveling in his motor home, and gambling at casinos. He spent many hours watering the grass, cleaning the pool, cussing out the squirrels for throwing pecans in the pool, falling into the pool running from bees, and telling Spurs players how to play basketball through the TV. After retirement he enjoyed watching and helping his grandchildren grow up. He really enjoyed attending their many parties, school events, karate matches, dance recitals, and dance competitions.
After residing in Helotes for 25 years, his last 5 years was spent at Landon Ridge Independent Living where he made many friends with residents and staff. Although he was confined to a wheelchair, he participated in many activities including senior games where he won many medals, and happy hour where he enjoyed dancing with the love of his life. He even learned to love all of the different costumes for every occasion that Margaret got for them.
