Jack Harrell Thompson, Sr.

to Rebie Harrell Thompson and Alonzo Lee Thompson in Memphis, TN on August

28, 1921. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Suzanne Davis

Thompson, and their children Jack H. Thompson Jr. (wife Jane), Marjorie S.

Camp (husband Roger), and Peggy T. McCray (husband John). He is also

survived by son Keith S. Kays (wife Jacqueline) as well as numerous

grandchildren and great-grand children.

Jack retired from the U.S. Army Signal Corp as a Major in 1962, after

serving in the Pacific in WW II, Korea, and Viet Nam. He then joined the

Civil Service and retired from Kelly AFB and served in the Texas State

Guard, rising to the rank of Lt. Col. He was also a long time member of the

Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS). He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree

from St. Mary's University, San Antonio, TX in 1966 and Master of Science degree

from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1981.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1018 E.

Grayson, on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at

Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
