

Jacqueline “Jackie” Kries, age 65, passed away on May 28, 2013 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on September 3, 1947 in San Antonio, TX. She was a loving wife and friend who will be dearly missed. Jackie graduated from Cuero High School and later attended Victoria College & Wharton Jr. College. Jackie received her bachelor’s at the University of Incarnate Word. She worked at the San Antonio Light Newspaper, TX Employment Commission, Sears Service Center and recently as a travel agent for Travelocity. Jackie was very active with the city of Kirby including: Planning & Zoning, Charter Review, Building & Standards, and Kirby’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. She and her husband were recently recognized for their service to Kirby by Governor Rick Perry and Kirby Mayor, Timothy Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman & Alta Schultz; step-mothers, Bernice Dromgoole & Mabel Schultz; and step-brother, Glen “Bubba” Dromgoole.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Peter B. Kries; step-brother, Don Dromgoole of Ingleside, TX; brother-in-law, Vernon Snodderly of Newman, CA; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, friends and her special canine companion, Christy.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Sunset Serenity Mausoleum. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
