Jacqueline was born a 4th generation Texan. She was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ray Clardy of Brownwood, Texas.
She dearly loved Texas from the plains to the gulf. Her mother said she always knew Jackie would be in the fashion field when she grew up, because she was choosing her own clothes and trying to choose her mother's by the time she was eight years old. In high school she worked on Saturdays at a popular ladies store owned by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Waisman. They became her mentors, teaching her all about merchandising and taking her to fashion markets with them. They also sent her to business college. Later she went to modeling school and became a successful fashion model. She devoted over 30 years to her career in the fashion field in a variety of positions including Manager, Buyer and Sales Coordinator with Neiman Marcus, Sakowitz and Frost Bros.
Jackie called her adored daughter and son her "Claim to Fame." She was a Girl Scout leader, a den mother, President of P.T.A., First President of San Antonio Rotary Anns, President of her chapter of Blue Birds, Member of Veterinary Medical Auxiliary, Bexar County Republican Women, and member of Aggie Wives Club. She and her beloved husband, Dr. Gerald Parker, enjoyed traveling through the U.S.A. and Europe, Hawaii being her favorite place to visit. She was a life member of St. Mary's Church.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents.
