James A. “Wimpy” Wimsatt, Jr., 90, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Marie in May 2006. He is survived by his children, Pamela Maples and Col. James A. Wimsatt, III, DDS, USAF, Retired; grandsons, Kris Maples, Sgt. Kory Maples USMC and wife Michelle-Petty Maples, James Michael “Mike” Wimsatt; great granddaughter, Charlie Lynn Maples. Mr. Wimsatt served in England during World War II. He and his wife proudly owned and operated Wimsatt Hardware in El Paso, Texas for 45 years. A celebration of his Life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the Garden Chapel at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, 825 E. Basse Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209. The Rev. Dinah Shelley will be officiating. The interment with military honors will follow privately at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
