

Jim, affectionately known as "Jimmy" while growing up, was born October 2, 1936 in Quanah, Texas to Oren and Dorris Babb. He was raised in Eldorado, Oklahoma and later moved to Altus. Jim joined the National Guard in 1956 and enlisted in the Army 4 years later. In 1965, Jim met and married his wife, Julia. Shortly afterward, he adopted her two small children, Rebecca and Giles. Jim's 20-year Army career consisted of state side and overseas Tours of Duty, including England, Germany and Vietnam where he flew in helicopters delivering medical supplies to M.A.S.H. units. After retiring from the Army, Jim worked another 18 years in Maintenance for the Judson Independent School District.
Jim was active in the AVA (American Volkssport Association), VFW, Friendship Force, Home Owner's Association and Neighborhood Cellular on Patrol.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his sister, Marita; brother, Gary; Daughter and Son. Jim was always a courageous, loving and generous man. He was a wonderful husband and father. His warm-heart, sense of humor and contagious laughter will be missed by all.
